Mid-week………and the first day this week with no shovelling, other than the little path over the snowbank and in front of the door at the little wood shop at the other house. No sweat!  All to the end of finally cutting three blocks for the ‘Rabbittown Poster’ and for getting a piece of red oak ready to try and turn a goblet.

A week or so back, the New Brunswick Crafts Council (of which I am a juried member) contacted me re their annual ‘Goblet Grab’ fundraiser.  They mentioned something for their silent auction  because they knew I didn’t make goblets.  They’re right.  I don’t….or at least I never have.  However, I decided to try so I bought a two foot piece of red oak and today planed it and glued it up with epoxy glue to try and turn a goblet of some sort.  I either can or I can’t and the next day or so will hopefully tell one way or another. Here is a picture 0f $6.00m plus tax worth of red oak in the rough and then being glued with Jeff the cat looking on and being a damn nuisance while I mixed the glue…

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA….it is still up at the other house (where oldest young lad lives).  Here is a shot of the other three cats there who weren’t being nuisances…OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThen, there was the lino block situation. It took a little figuring, but I got them cut, got them home, and got the images transferred….what will be three reduction blocks, ready to cut…..OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThis and finishing up with this year’s Craft College event — prints delivered and paperwork done with many thanks to Mike Cote and his class….
